Who we are: SignatureDrive.com is one of the leading petition drive firm in the country. We are the leader in Massachusetts, where we are based, and also the leading firm operating in the neighboring state of Maine. My partners Alex Arsenault, Jim Fleming and I, and our team of elite petitioners and managers around the country have collectively completed over 150 statewide signature drives (all of them successfully!) for ballot initiatives and candidates in 26 states. We’ve collected over 10 million valid signatures, often under very challenging condition.
In Massachusetts, our record is unmatched. Since 2021, we collected 2.4 million valid signatures from 680,000 unique voters on 54 statewide petitions. One out of every eight Massachusetts voters has signed one or more of our petitions in the last six years.
We are the only petition firm in the country that runs paid signature drives in Massachusetts every year. Since 1998, there have been 98 statewide ballot initiative and candidate signature drive campaigns in Massachusetts that hired paid signature drive firms. We ran 88 of them.
Unlike most other signature drive firms, we regularly carry multiple petitions at the same time, giving us a unique cost advantage that we can pass on to our clients. In 1999, we were the first firm in Massachusetts to ever run multiple simultaneous signature drives, when we carried four petitions, each requiring 100,000 signatures.
In 2023 we collected 900,000 signatures on 9 petitions in 39 days, then moved our crew up to Maine where we qualified a 100,000 signature petition in one week, before and on election day. We repeated this in 2025, collecting 800,000 signatures in six weeks. No firm that has worked in Massachusetts has ever completed more than one petition drive at a time.
We have also conducted dozens of successful candidate nomination petition drives in every New England state and around the country, from city council and mayoral candidates to presidential candidates. We have never failed to get an initiative or candidate on the ballot.
What we will do for you: A signature drive requires intense focus from beginning to end. The process of collecting tens or hundreds of thousands of signatures in a short time frame is complex, prone to errors if you are not very careful, and extremely unforgiving. There is always an opponent waiting to take advantage of any defects in your signatures to keep your campaign off the ballot. We are the most detail driven petition managers you will ever meet in this business. We never let anything fall through the cracks.
We are experts in all aspects of the petitioning process. We know exactly how to comply rigorously with every one of your state’s ballot access rules, no matter how nuanced or idiosyncratic they may be. This includes geographic distribution requirements, petition notarization, petitioner residency, petitioner registration, petitioner affidavits, pay per signature vs. hourly plus bonuses, delivering the signatures on time to the various election departments for certification and then retrieving them for delivery to your campaign, or directly to the appropriate state agency if you prefer.
We have a rigorous quality control process to guarantee that we are submitting enough valid signatures to exceed your state’s minimum requirements by a comfortable margin, as well as to confirm that we’ve satisfied the terms of our contract with your campaign. Our team of verification specialists use proprietary software that we developed to check every signature against a database of currently registered voters. At any time during the signature drive we can tell you, in real-time, how many valid signatures we have. There will never be any doubt that we are on pace to complete your signature drive by the deadline that we promised.
Upon request, at the end of the drive we can provide you with digital images of every petition sheet, combined with a spreadsheet listing the names and addresses of every registered voter who signed your petition. Each entry in the spreadsheet is keyed to the digital image of the petition signed by that voter, allowing you to verify that the numbers we report to you are accurate and to be prepared in the event of a challenge to your signatures.
Why you should hire us: We are not the lowest priced vendor you will find to bid on your project. Early in my career, a mentor told me that “there is a big difference between less expensive and cheaper.” It is not uncommon for a signature drive vendor to propose an attractive low price to get their bid accepted, only to get stuck half way through because they run out of money and don’t have the resources or expertise to get the job done. Those vendors are not less expensive than us. They are cheaper.
What we offer is the most reliable and lowest risk approach possible for getting your initiative or candidate on the ballot at a price that is in line with other reputable petition firms and, more importantly, won’t suddenly go up half way through the drive.
